Cleansing/Clearing Crystals and Stones
All Crystals and Stones conduct positive and negative energy. It is important that all prior energies of the Crystals and Stones be cleared and restored to their natural balance of clear energy state.
Here are some methods of Cleansing/Clearing, however pick the method that feels comfortable for you to use.
Keep in mind if you are cleansing/clearing Salt Crystals Do Not use the Water or Tea methods.
Sand/Soil Method
Dig a hole in the soil or sand outside. Place the stones/crystals in the hole and cover with the soil. Leave them in the soil or sand for at least 24 hours.
Remember to mark the spot where they are buried.
Water/Rain Method
A quick and easy way is by using water. Although some stones may loose their coating by being wet such as Malachite, Sodalite and Lapis.
Run water over the stones by holding them in your hands or placing them in a metal strainer for 3 to 5 minutes. You can also put the stones/crystals outside when it is raining. Let the stones dry naturally for both methods.
Sun Method
Lay the stones/crystals on a plate or tray and put them in the sunlight outdoors or on the window ledge inside that has good sunlight for several hours.
There are some stones that can be damage by strong sun such as Amethyst and Aventurine which may become paler in color.
Smudging Method
After lighting scented incenses such as sage, frankincense or sweetgrass pass the stones/crystals over the smoke. This method is also eliminates negative energy in the room.
Tea Method
Brew some leaves of rosemary and sage into a tea using spring or distilled water. Let it cool. Place stones in a bowl and pour the cool tea over them. Let the stones sit in the tea overnight.
Moonlight Method
Place stones/crystals in a plate or tray and put them outside in the moonlight. This also can be accomplished by placing them inside on a window ledge at night that gets plenty moonlight.
